We were deeply sad­dened to learn of the pass­ing on Mon­day, March 12, of Sam Swann, 55, of Dan­dridge, Ten­nessee. Swann was the owner and op­er­a­tor of the “South­ern Im­pact” pull sled that ser­viced Mid-south events as well as Grand and Re­gional Na­tional pulls across the mid­dle United States. He was a very giv­ing man and op­er­ated the sled used for the Smokin’ Up The Val­ley event for the past sev­eral years, charg­ing the event for only his op­er­at­ing ex­penses and al­low­ing more money to go to the East Ten­nessee Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal. Swann suc­cumbed to in­juries suf­fered as the re­sult of an accident the pre­vi­ous week.

Sur­viv­ing Swann are his wife Cindy; sib­lings Lois Fehn and A.B. Jr.; chil­dren Travis, Sam­mie, Lexi and Lesley; adopted daugh­ters Han­nah and Hai­ley Collins; grand­chil­dren Bryc­ton and Xza­y­den-zek; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.
