Ultimate Diesel Builder's Guide - - Exterior Lighting - Text/photography: Chris Tobin

Does your truck have big yellow warts on the roof? Many diesel trucks came with ugly yellow cab marker lights from the factory, and Recon offers the perfect solution for diesel guys who would like a more subtle approach to lighting on their trucks. They are available with clear or smoked housings and yellow LEDS, as well as other configurations.

On this ’04 Dodge the black paint was interrupted by the factory yellow cab lights, so the owner decided to install a set of Recon’s smoked LEDS. Travis Wilson of Wilson Performance & Offroad performed the install in about 30 minutes to give the truck a much better look. If you are looking to improve the looks of your truck, consider a slick set of LED cab lights from Recon. They are super easy to install, available in many colors and styles and look great. Follow along as Wilson installs the LED lights and transforms the roof of this Dodge. UDBG

AFTER: The new Recon smoked LED cab lights look much better on the roof of this Dodge, and they’re easy to install too!

BEFORE: Does your truck have yellow warts on the roof?

02Using a T20 torx socket, Wilson starts in the center and removes both mounting screws for the cab light.

01Recon supplies their lights with new mounting screws and grommets, but Wilson and the truck owner agreed that reusing the factory black screws would look better than the supplied silver screws on the black truck.
