A strong sense of style flows through Avakian’s Tosca Collection unveiled at Cannes 2019 this summer. Heavily influenced by the Belle Époque era, the collection references strands of pearls and the then popular ‘garland’ style, using gems to narrate the visual poetry. The line also takes inspiration in part, for its name, from Italian opera composer Giacomo Puccini’s incredible work – Tosca. Glamour and opulence also serve as inspirations for Maison Avakian. “Tosca by Puccini was the first opera I watched growing up and one that remains vividly etched in my memory. I wanted to create a line that was reminiscent of that era, but while keeping the playful aspect which is found in all our creations,” says Haig Avakian, Vice President. Tosca earrings and rings are rendered in three variations, each comprising a changeable element. The transformable Tosca ruby earrings are offset with mother-of-pearl and white diamonds, and shiny pink gold on the opposite side. The Tosca sapphire earrings are set with blue sapphires and white diamonds with mother-of-pearl and shiny white gold on the reverse side, while the Tosca white diamond iteration is adorned with mother-of-pearl and white gold. The earrings come with matching rings. |
