She’s here! Kate Hudson and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa welcomed daughter Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa on Oct. 2. And the proud parents aren’t the only members of the newborn’s family overjoyed by her arrival. Hudson’s two sons from previous relationships, 14-year-old Ryder (with her ex-husband, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson) and 7-yearold Bingham (with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy), “are obsessed with Rani,” a source tells Us. “They’ve been at the hospital visiting her and are excited for her to get home.”
NEW DAD In a December 2017 Instagram post, Hudson revealed that she and Fujikawa, 32, met almost 16 years ago through his stepsisters (her pals Erin and Sara Foster) but didn’t become romantic until almost two years ago. At that point, “she just knew she wanted a baby with him,” says another insider. Now the Fabletics founder, 39, is “so happy” for the first-time dad and “can’t wait for him to experience having a child of his own.”
FAMILY TIES When it came to picking out a name for their new bundle of joy, Rani “was always going to be the name,” says the first source. On Instagram on Oct. 3, Hudson explained that the moniker (pronounced “Ronnie”) pays homage to Fujikawa’s late father. “Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly,” she wrote. “To name her after him is an honor.”
