SECRETS FROM DAWSON’S CREEK
Fans of Busy Philipps’ supercandid Instagram stories won’t be disappointed when her new book, This Will Only Hurt a Little, hits stores on Oct. 16. In the memoir, she dishes on her marriage to I Feel Pretty screenwriter Marc Silverstein, her friendship with Michelle Williams, the 2008 death of Heath Ledger and more, a source reveals to Us. In the midst of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing on Sept. 27, Philipps, 39, revealed on Instagram that she was raped at age 14 and noted that she’ll elaborate on her ordeal in the tome, adding, “Today is the day we are silent no more.”
BEHIND THE SCENES When it comes to her experiences in Hollywood, the host of upcoming talk show Busy Tonight, doesn’t hold back, sharing stories from the set of Dawson’s Creek. Philipps first bonded with Williams, 38, when she joined the cast in 2001, but Philipps writes that “the cast wasn’t that close off screen,” notes the insider. “Joshua Jackson and James Van Der Beek apparently weren’t fans of each other, and Busy says Katie Holmes was a nice girl, but they never really hit it off.”
STRONGER NOW Another bombshell: During her two seasons portraying Audrey Liddell on the hit WB drama, “she was body-shamed by the wardrobe department on set,” says the source. “She was compared to Katie Holmes.” Today, the mom to daughters Birdie, 10, and Cricket, 5, knows how to handle the critics a little better. When a troll commented “Ughhhh, you’re [sic] rolls are showing” on an Aug. 21 Instagram post, Philipps clapped back, “I feel like a man your age should know the difference between YOUR and YOU’RE.”
