What Really Matters to Savannah

-

For Savannah Guthrie, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. When raising daughter Vale, 4, and son Charles, 23 months, “I care about their character,” the mom says. “I care so much about their souls and their spirits way more than I care about book smarts or what school they go to.” The Today anchor, 46, who’s wed to communications consultant Michael Feldman, 50, talks values and goals with Us.

Q: On International Day of the Girl (Oct. 11), Vale was with you on Today. What was the best part? My favorite moment was seeing my daughter out there dancing like nobody’s watching, because that’s just who she is. I love her fearlessness.

Q: She seems so confident! She just came out that way, and all I have to do is get out of the way and hope she gets to do exactly what she wants.

Q: How are you also empowering Charles? It’s just as important to me that he grows up in a world where his and his sister’s potential is realized. We’re all working toward that goal.
