Britney Spears Quits Vegas for Her Dad
Britney Spears announced Jan. 4 that her Las Vegas residency show, Britney: Domination, has been postponed indefinitely due to her father, Jamie Spears’, ongoing health problems. Two months before the announcement, the 66-year-old was rushed to the hospital for a ruptured colon, which required emergency surgery.
RETURNING THE FAVOR In an Instagram post, Britney elaborated on his illness.
“My father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him,” said the “Piece of Me” singer, 37. Jamie has served as the conservator of Britney’s estate since 2008, after she suffered a highly publicized breakdown and was hospitalized. Now, says the mom to Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, “I want to be with my family at this time just like they’ve always been there for me.”
