J.D. Scott didn’t think he was going to make it. For months, the older sibling of Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew suffered from a mystery illness that left him hypersensitive to warm temperatures. “I thought I was dying,” he told Us, noting that he “sent death instructions” to his fiancée, Annalee Belle. After meeting a doctor on the set of Property Brothers: Forever Home, the HGTV host, 43, learned that the illness might be related to gut health. He’s since been on a strict elimination diet to identify the cause. While there hasn’t been a diagnosis, J.D. says he’s fortunate to be here and owes a lot to his twin brothers, 41. When he realized he couldn’t complete the renovation of his own home because of his illness, they did it for him. “I’m forever grateful to have such a supportive family.” As he regains his health, J.D.’s looking forward to his Halloween wedding and working more: “I’d like to get back in the saddle.”
