Nearly 20 years after its release, Drop Dead Gorgeous is a cult classic. In it, current Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Denise Richards, 48, plays pageant queen Becky Leeman, whose fate is sealed when her parade float explodes. The actress reminisces with Us about the hilarious, politically incorrect film, which costarred Kirsten Dunst, Kirstie Alley and Allison Janney.

Looking back, what was the best part of filming?

We all just had so much fun with the accents and silly things our characters did. We definitely pushed the envelope.

Who have you seen over the years from the cast?

I kept in touch with Kirstie. She’s one of the funniest women I’ve ever worked with.

You and Kirsten play rivals. What was your relationship like off screen?

I adored her. We often got mani-pedis together and had a lot of dinners, hanging out.

Would you ever consider a sequel?

I’d love to do one! Our original title was Dairy Queens, which I thought was brilliant. Perhaps we can have that as the name of the sequel.
