Inside Britney Spears’ plans to get back her freedom.

-

† Britney Spears has always kept quiet on matters relating to her long-standing conservatorship — but that’s about to change. On April 27, a judge granted the pop star’s request to speak directly to the court at an upcoming hearing scheduled for June 23. “This is meant as Britney’s opportunity to reveal her truth,” a source tells Us of the “Toxic” singer, who has been fighting to have her dad, Jamie Spears, permanently removed from overseeing her personal affairs and replaced with her care manager, Jodi Montgomery. “Britney wants to address the court and doesn’t want the proceedings closed to the public.” While it’s unknown if the 39-year-old will get her wish — “She might appear virtually on Zoom but not make a comment until she wants to address something publicly,” explains a second insider, “or she could speak to just the judge and no one will know what is said” — the first source says Britney has the support of loved ones, especially mom Lynne Spears. Adds the first source. “Lynne’s very proud of her strong daughter [and] her decision.”
