That was a big part of it,” the Life as We Know It star tells Us of his 8-year-old with ex-wife Fergie. “They get along great. It’s been good.” As for whether he wants more kids with the former beauty queen, 28, Duhamel gushes, “Yeah, I hope so. That’s the plan.” But for now, the North Dakota native is focusing on finding the balance between being firm and not “too overbearing” while raising Axl. “I want to make sure that I’m making him get out there and do things, making sure that he knows he’s safe and secure but also can go out and take risks,” Duhamel explains, bragging that he recently convinced the little one to take an ice bath together. “[I’m not trying to] overly parent him, but I also want to be a good role model because he’s watching very closely.”
