Slowly but surely! Jared Haibon admits he didn’t “instantaneously” connect with his and wife Ashley Iaconetti’s newborn, Dawson. According to the Bachelor in Paradise alum, 33, “I was not, like, overwhelmed with this feeling of unconditional love for my son [when he arrived]. I was like, ‘Oh, my God. I’m a psychopath. I don’t love my son.’” Haibon updates Us on his bond with his baby boy below.

How do you feel about fatherhood one month in?
Now I love [Dawson] more than anything in this world. He’s just amazing.

Has your marriage to Ashley changed since welcoming your little boy?
I started appreciating Ashley more during pregnancy because of all the pain that she was going through and how uncomfortable she was 24/7.
Q:
How do you balance parenting responsibilities?
We switch off every night. I’ll take the 1 o’clock change, and then she’ll take the 4 in the morning one.

Has Dawson met any Bachelor Nation members?
Nobody’s met him [yet].
It’s so sad, but we’re very excited for Tanner [Tolbert] and Jade [Roper] to meet him because we’ve grown so close with their kids.
