King has flawlessly worked her way to the top of Hollywood since getting her start on the sitcom in 1985 when she was just 14. Now, nearly 40 years later, she’s become an unstoppabl­e force in the industry, with every veteran actor, director and screenwrit­er clamoring to work with her. The triple threat, who is also a successful producer and director, won her first acting Oscar for If Beale Street Could Talk in 2019, followed by her fourth Emmy for her role in HBO’s Watchmen in 2020. A year after that, King’s directoria­l debut, One Night in Miami, earned three Oscar nomination­s. In regards to being such a well-rounded and beloved entertaine­r, King, 51, explained, “I’ve tried to be flexible in my career by doing a little bit of everything, and that’s worked for me.”
