The Adam Project

-

Director Shawn Levy’s latest film follows Adam Reed (Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old coping with the loss of his father (Mark Ruffalo) by getting into trouble at school. One day, the precocious preteen discovers a stranger (Ryan Reynolds) in his garage — and learns the man is actually the older version of himself. The elder Adam, now a pilot in 2050, is on a mission to cease time travel in the hopes of improving the future, and much to his chagrin, he can’t do it without his younger self’s help. Together, the two embark on a risky journey to locate the inventor of time travel (a.k.a. their late dad!) while facing danger at every turn. Along the way, the Adams — forced to face both their painful past and uncertain future — may just end up learning a thing or two about themselves, too.
