It’s been 32 years since Roberts and Richard Gere starred in their iconic film Pretty Woman, but the costars are still super tight, and a source tells Us Roberts has been turning to the actor for moral support more than ever lately. “If Julia’s having a tough time, she’ll call Richard for his take,” says a source, “whether it’s about a career dilemma or something they’ve got going on in their personal lives.”

According to the source, Roberts trusts Gere, 72, implicitly. “Out of all their respective costars down the years, it’s hard to think of anyone else either of them has hit it off with more, both on and off the set,” the source shares. “There’s a huge respect there that goes beyond their professional relationship. It’s a friendship that’s very mature,” adds the source. “Julia and Richard adore each other — and they will always have each other’s backs.”
