Oh, baby! Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey are expecting their first child — is she moving too fast, or has she finally found her happy ending?
Fans were shocked when Kaley Cuoco took to Instagram on Oct. 12 to announce she and her boyfriend of nearly six months, Tom Pelphrey, are having a baby. “Beyond blessed and over the moon,” the actress, 36, wrote alongside photos of the couple with a pink-frosted cake (it’s a girl!), holding up onesies and sharing a sweet kiss.
In typical Cuoco fashion, her new romance has been quite a whirlwind.
She and the actor met in late April — seven months after her split from ex-husband Karl Cook — at the season 4 premiere of his show, Ozark. “I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting,” she’s said of their initial meeting. “It hit me. It was love at first sight.”

Us Cuoco is “deliriously happy” and couldn’t care less what people think. “Kaley knows others look at her as an incurable romantic who falls hard and fast for everyone she dates, but it doesn’t bother her,” says the source. “Both she and Tom feel like they’re living a real-life fairy tale, and things just keep getting better and better.”
The pregnancy was a surprise, but a welcome one. “Neither of them was freaked out by it,” says the source, noting that Cuoco is well into her second trimester. “Kaley’s embraced the whole journey with open arms, and Tom is head over heels in love and happy to give it everything he’s got.”

Although Cuoco proclaimed she “would never get married again,” the source says she’s changed her tune. “Kaley and Tom
are totally planning on getting married; it’s just a question of timing.” In fact, in Cuoco’s Oct. 12 Instagram post, both she and Pelphrey are wearing gold wedding bands on their ring fingers. “It’s possible they went ahead with a simple ceremony before the baby is born,” says the source, “but they’re not confirming it. Either way, they want to have a blowout bash in 2023 once their daughter is here.”
For now, they’re enjoying the journey. “Kaley has had some nausea and discomfort to deal with, but that hasn’t stopped her from feeling utterly joyful,” shares the source, adding that they’re having fun picking out baby names and designing the nursery. She’s also planning on continuing to work as much as she can, having just signed on for a new comedic thriller, Based on a True Story, for Peacock. (She’s also teased a third season of The Flight Attendant.) “Kaley isn’t daunted by the idea of juggling the pregnancy with her career,” the source notes. “She’s been assured that her TV bosses will be patient and figure out ways to work around her schedule.”
Pelphrey also wants to be a hands-on dad. “Kaley knows Tom will make a wonderful daddy. They’re a very cute couple,” adds the source. “Kaley has no doubt that this is going to stick. She’s sure she’s found her soulmate.” •
