Granik leaves, Stern stays

Russ Granik is leaving as the NBA’s second- incommand after 30 years. His boss, Commissioner David Stern, agreed to a 7 ve- year contract extension that will keep him at the NBA through the 2009- 10 season. “ Russ has decided he wants to get off the treadmill and improve his golf handicap,” Stern, 63, said at the league’s Board of Governors meeting in New York.
