It is about time we stop getting involved

in all these civil wars and quit trying to police the world. We have spent trillions of dollars to defend our country, and who is going to attack us? We’ve spent so much money, and we are now broke. Meanwhile, we should be spending more money to help fight these forest fires that are now a bigger threat to us than any other military attack.

Wouldn’t it be great if the military could develop a weapon, or some method, to fight these fires instead of countries? It needs to save our homeland instead of other countries. Paul Bergkessel Lithia Springs, Ga.
