Who should apologize for Obamacare?
Columnist Jonah Goldberg goes too far in his piece about President Obama’s statement that those who liked their insurance would be able to keep their insurance. He states Obama lied to the American people. In addition, Goldberg does not go far enough to examine who the real liars are.
There are numerous complaints from health care policyholders that they have received notices from their insurers that their policy had been canceled due to the Affordable Care Act. However, some policies are exempt from cancellation. What many insurance companies have done is attempt to sell higher cost policies to their customers by sending out cancellation notices, and offering a much more expensive policy to replace it, without mentioning the options under the ACA, including the tax credits for which a policyholder may be eligible. Some of these junk policies offer so little that they should be canceled.

President Obama has apologized
for the enormous number of policy cancellations Obamacare caused. Don’t believe him. If he really cared, he would agree to a delay and changes in the law.
The administration had three years to write regulations for a smooth transition. Instead, it wrote regulations that forced insurance companies to cancel policies. This act is not about affordable care. It is about a federal government grab for power over people.
