Answers still demanded for attack, ‘ 60 Minutes’ report STILL NEED ANSWERS

-

Lara Logan, a CBS correspondent, apologized for a recent “60 Minutes” report that contained mistaken information about the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U. S. compound in Benghazi, Libya.

WHERE’S THE INTEGRITY?

The investigative show “60 Minutes” needs to do a better job of vetting the sources used in its stories.

I remember that the same news magazine did a story about thencandidate George Bush and his military and academic history.

The problem was, the source was a hack with a political ax to grind, and the documents offered to “60 Minutes II” turned out to be fake.

An apology isn’t nearly enough. Lara Logan or someone should be fired.

Even a first- grader should have been able to tell that this guy was lying. What happened to journalistic integrity?

Earl McDuff I applauded CBS for finally speaking out about this atrocity. The truth is, the White House was notified several times of the peril our people were constantly facing, and not enough was done. Now, CBS says there was an error in the reporting. I’m saying, the truth has been held back too long.

What this “60 Minutes” interview and false information tells us is that Benghazi was a tragedy, not a scandal. I’m sure many people are disappointed.

Robert Montgomery

Benghazi is a source of embarassment for our government. Even former secretary of State Hillary Clinton acted like she wanted the incident to go away, stating: “We had four dead Americans. . . . What difference, at this point, does it make?”
