Did Trump really end all birth- related questions?

- LETTERS LETTERS@ USATODAY. COM

I remember hearing of the “birther”

controversy for the first time during the 2008 Democratic primary contest between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. But since Clinton didn’t give a speech with details, they just popped up during their battle: An Obama family member claiming the candidate’s Kenyan birth, or his literary publicist producing a pamphlet highlighting a new author born in Kenya who grew up in Hawaii.

I guess that means the Clinton machine was not to blame for using these mistakes to support a false narrative. And Donald Trump, the developer and reality TV star, was the culprit. Very shrewd of Trump to make it look like typical Clinton dirty tricks in case he wanted to get into politics and run against her nearly a decade later. Dwayne Keith Valrico, Fla. FACEBOOK FACEBOOK. Trump’s admission means absolutely nothing. Trump will not get many black votes. Let’s be real, his reason for his racist birther issue was to delegitimize the first black president of the U. S. It failed now, so he owns it, but blacks will not forget.

The white vote will likely split, and the minority vote will likely deliver one of the two candidates to victory. I’m sure Trump will not get that voting bloc. It’s funny how Trump now realizes

Is there no position that Trump can stick to? He’s pro- life. He’s pro- choice. He loves Hillary Clinton. He hates Hillary Clinton. He’s for the Iraq War. He’s against the Iraq War. He’s progay marriage. He’s anti- gay marriage. He’s like a sheet blowing in the wind. And there are people ridiculous enough to support him? I mean, really, if you believe anything he says, you’re dimmer than a busted night light. Pete Davis

As expected, even after Trump states President Obama was born in the U. S., we still have Democrats criticizing the Republican nominee.

All this nonsense from Democrats is deflection from the real issues. Phil Koprowski
