7 ways to fill the void left by David Bowie

One year after his shocking death, fans’ appetites for David Bowie are as insatiable as ever. The music icon, who died Jan. 10, 2016, of cancer at age 69, scored the second- best- selling vinyl LP of 2016 with his Grammy- nominated final album, Blackstar, according to Nielsen Music. Sales of his greatest hits skyrocketed, too, while tributes to his multifaceted artistry have continued to pour in from all corners of the entertainment world. DAVID BOWIE: BEHIND THE CURTAIN A one- of- a- kind travelogue by rock photographer Andrew Kent, as he traverses the globe with the Thin White Duke on his Isolar tour in the mid- 1970s, capturing electrifying live performances as well as intimate moments in dressing rooms, hotels, parties and events. THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH: LIMITED COLLECTOR’S EDITION Nicolas Roeg’s 1976 science fiction classic — which stars Bowie as an alien come to Earth seeking water for his drought- stricken planet — has been remastered in 4K resolution for this Blu- ray combo pack. Special features include never- before- seen interviews, a 72- page booklet, art cards and a poster. ( Lionsgate, $ 34.99, out Jan. 24)

LAZARUS The original cast recording for one of the icon’s final works: a musical co- written with Enda Walsh and inspired by The Man Who Fell to Earth, which played in New York with stars Michael C. Hall ( Dexter) and Cristin Milioti ( How I Met Your Mother). Available on CD and vinyl, the album also includes three exclusive Bowie recordings of songs Killing a Little Time, No Plan and When I Met You. ( ISO/ Columbia Records, prices vary, out now)

DAVID BOWIE: THE LAST INTERVIEW AND OTHER CONVERSATIONS A collection of farranging interviews about music, sexuality, fashion, drug usage and more: starting in 1964, with a then- teenage David Jones talking to BBC Tonight, and culminating in 2006, as he discusses his appearance on Ricky Gervais’ British sitcom Extras. SOUND AND VISION Timed to its 40th anniversary, this 7- inch vinyl picture disc features a remastered version of single Sound and Vision ( off 1977’ s Low) and its stripped- back 2013 remix for a Sony Xperia Z smartphone ad campaign. ( Rhino, $ 14.98, out Feb. 10)

SPIDER FROM MARS: MY LIFE WITH BOWIE Drummer Woody Woodmansey, the last surviving member of Bowie’s band The Spider from Mars, recounts wild tours, behind- the- scenes drama and album sessions from the singer’s Ziggy Stardust era in this revealing memoir. ( St. Martin’s Press, $ 27.99, out now)

LEGACY Released as both CD and LP sets, this career- spanning greatest hits compilation of Bowie favorites includes his earliest hit, 1969’ s Space Oddity, through final singles Lazarus and I Can’t Give Everything Away, in addition to a previously unreleased version of Life on Mars.
