Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Mark Johnson studied the growing threat posed by diseases that jump from animals to humans during a nine- month O’Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism at Marquette University. He was assisted by Marquette student researchers McKenna Oxenden, Ryan Patterson and Devi Shastri.
