❚ JAN. 22 UNITED STATES
imposes tariffs on $8.5 billion in imports of solar panels and $1.8 billion on washing machines.
❚ MARCH 23 UNITED STATES
imposes tariffs on about $10.2 billion of steel imports and $7.7 billion of aluminum imports.
❚ APRIL 2 CHINA
imposes tariffs on aluminum scrap, pork, fruits, nuts and other products valued at $2.4 billion.
❚ JUNE 1 UNITED STATES
ends exemptions on tariffs for tens of billions of dollars of steel and aluminum imports from the European Union, Canada and Mexico.
❚ JUNE 22 EUROPEAN UNION
imposes tariffs on $3.2 billion of U.S. products, including steel, aluminum, whiskey, motorcycles, blue jeans and peanut butter.
❚ JULY 6 UNITED STATES
imposes tariffs on $34 billion in Chinese imports, largely industrial products and electrical components.
CHINA
imposes a similar value of duties on U.S. products, including soybeans and cars.
