Tebow’s AAA homer greeted by silence
Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is still pursuing his baseball dreams, as the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is playing Class AAA ball with the Syracuse (New York) Mets.
Tebow has played in 34 games this year for Syracuse and is hitting .157 with 17 hits in 108 at-bats. But one of those hits is a home run, which he hit in Sunday’s loss to the Columbus (Ohio) Clippers.
Tebow, who once led the Broncos to a thrilling NFL playoff overtime win over the Steelers, launched his first Class AAA homer over the wall in right field.
Then when he got back to the bench, his teammates did the old silent treatment tradition for someone’s first homer before celebrating with him.
Maybe that homer will get Tebow going. Either way, pretty impressive to see him do that.
