Democrats, independen­ts un­sure a fe­male can­di­date could de­feat Trump

A new poll finds Democratic and independen­t vot­ers are more at ease with the idea of a fe­male pres­i­dent than they were in June, but they are less con­fi­dent a fe­male nom­i­nee could stand up to Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump. Re­sponses on: SOURCE Ip­sos on­line poll of 567 Democrats and independen­ts June 10- 11 with a cred­i­bil­ity in­ter­val of +/- 3.8 per­cent­age points and sec­ond on­line poll of 1,236 Democrats and independen­ts Aug. 28- 30 with a cred­i­bil­ity in­ter­val of +/- 3.1 per­cent­age points. A cred­i­bil­ity in­ter­val is sim­i­lar to a mar­gin of er­ror.
