Raiders rally to erase Bears’ comeback
Josh Jacobs scored his second touchdown of the game with a leap from the 2- yard line with 1: 57 to play, capping a 97yard drive that helped the Raiders rally for a 24- 21 victory after blowing a 17- point lead Sunday.
The touchdown was part of a roller- coaster game in London. The Raiders broke out to a 17- 0 halftime lead only to fall behind the Bears in a mistake- filled third quarter.
Then Oakland fumbled at the goal line when going in for the go- ahead score, needed a replay review to overturn a fumble on a successful fake punt on the winning drive, then intercepted Chicago backup Chase Daniel with 1: 14 to go.
❚ Bills 14, Titans 7: Josh Allen threw for 219 yards and two TDs as Buffalo won a defensive showdown. Jordan Phillips had a career- high three sacks by halftime as Buffalo sacked Marcus Mariota five times. The Titans sacked Allen four times.
❚ Saints 31, Buccaneers 24: Teddy Bridgewater passed for 314 yards and four TDs to remain unbeaten in three starts for New Orleans this season. He completed 26 of 34 passes, with two TD throws to Michael Thomas and one each to Jared Cook and Ted Ginn Jr. Tampa Bay’s secondary struggled to stay with Thomas, who had 11 catches for 182 yards.
❚ Ravens 26, Steelers 23: After Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph was knocked unconscious by a head- high hit in the third quarter, Justin Tucker made a 46- yard field goal in overtime to lift Baltimore. He forced OT with a field goal with 14 seconds to go.
❚ Patriots 33, Redskins 7: Tom Brady threw for 348 yards and three TDs, and New England ( 5- 0) got another strong performance from its defense.
❚ Eagles 31, Jets 6: Nate Gerry returned an interception for a score and Orlando Scandrick took a strip- sack the distance to spark Philadelphia.
❚ Panthers 34, Jaguars 27: Christian McCaffrey tied a career high with 237 yards from scrimmage and scored three TDs, Brian Burns returned a fumble 56 yards for a TD and had a strip- sack in the fourth quarter, and Carolina held on for its third consecutive win. McCaffrey set a franchise record with an 84- yard TD run and scored on a 5- yard run when he somersaulted into the end zone. He also caught an 18- yard TD pass from Kyle Allen before leaving with five minutes remaining after cramping up.
❚ Broncos 20, Chargers 13: Phillip Lindsay ran for 114 yards, Denver’s defense forced three turnovers, and the Broncos got their first win.
❚ Texans 53, Falcons 32: Deshaun Watson threw for a career- high 426 yards and tied his personal best with five TD passes, including three to Will Fuller, to lead Houston. Fuller had 217 yards receiving.
❚ Cardinals 26, Bengals 23: Rookie Kyler Murray ran for a TD and led Arizona on a drive to Zane Gonzalez’s 31- yard field goal on the final play as the Cardinals got their first win under coach Kliff Kingsbury.
