Situated 100 floors above the streets of Manhattan, Edge at Hudson Yards will offer visitors a unique view of New York City.

“It’s called ‘ Edge’ because we are on the edge of New York,” Kathleen Corless, director of communications at Hudson

Yards told USA TODAY.

At 1,131 feet in the air, the Edge, which looks out over the city, is touted as the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, Corless added.

“We actually hang off the building; we’re not on top of the building, which means when you look over, you see nothing but glass and sky and the city around you, which is very unique,” she said.

The outdoor deck extends 80 feet out from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards, according to a release.

Edge has angled glass walls that visitors are encouraged to touch and lean forward on to look out over the city, and a portion of the deck has a glass- bottom floor.

The observation deck is complete, but there is more work to be done on internal features.

There will also be a restaurant, a bar and an event space called “Peak” on level 101. And on level 100, guests will be able to toast at a champagne bar.

Edge is expected to open to the public on March 11, 2020.
