Formula One’s governing body on Wednesday postponed the Chinese Grand Prix scheduled in Shanghai on April 19, the latest sporting event impacted by the fast- spreading viral infection in the country. More than 1,100 people have been killed in China by the coronaviru­s. F1 officials in a statement said they will study potential alternativ­e dates for the race “should the situation improve.” Other virus- enforced cancellati­ons or postponeme­nts range from soccer and Olympic qualifying events to golf tournament­s.
