2,400- plus flights are canceled Wednesday
Airlines have issued a fresh set of travel waivers for a wide portion of the East Coast Wednesday as airports in Texas continue to dig out after record ice and snow.
The National Weather Service said Wednesday that over 100 million Americans are under winter storm warnings, watches, or advisories as “heavy snow and treacherous ice accumulations” approached the East Coast.
As of 2: 30 p. m. EST, FlightAware counted more than 2,400 cancellations and more than 900 delays for Wednesday. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport still leads in canceled flights with American Airlines heading the carriers with the most canceled flights.
As of Wednesday morning, most major U. S. airlines had waivers in place for the mid- Atlantic and Northeast through Friday or Saturday. Southwest and United also covered travel in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee through Friday. American Airlines
