The actress is “brilliant,” “bad” and “a little bit mad.” Disney dropped its first trailer Wednesday for its liveaction prequel “Cruella” ( set to premiere on May 28), revealing the dark and twisted origins of the infamous villainess from 1961’ s “101 Dalmatians.” With her signature black and white hair along with some eccentric ’ 70s punk- rock looks, de Vil ( played by Stone) is an aspiring fashion designer who attempts to make a name herself in ruthless, wicked ways – even if that means making coats from Dalmatian puppies. Fans on Twitter reacted to the trailer, with some saying Stone’s portrayal was reminiscent of Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and even Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen.
