ROYALS REPORT LENDING TEXAS A HAND
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are lending Texas a helping hand through their nonprofit, the Archewell Foundation. In a statement on Sunday to USA TODAY, Jan Langbein, CEO of Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support in Dallas, which serves women and children who have experienced domestic violence, confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “will make a donation to help us get back on our feet.” She adds: “Not only will this gift provide for our critical needs, it shines an international spotlight on violence against women and children, letting survivors know that they are not alone.” The group’s emergency shelter and transitional housing were forced to shut down last week because of burst pipes and power loss from the Texas winter storms.
