The Kennedy Center Honors will induct Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, Grammy Award winner and Oscar nominee Bette Midler, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joni Mitchell, “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels and opera singer Justino Díaz in its 44th class on Dec. 5. The plan is to fill the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to capacity and mandate that those present wear masks, though that’s subject to change as pandemic conditions evolve, The Associated Press says.
