Bengals again take down Chiefs late

Bengals 27, Chiefs 24

In a rematch of last year’s AFC championsh­ip game, the Bengals again prevailed by a field goal in a hotly contested affair. Bengals QB Burrow threw for 286 yards and scored three total touchdowns in a win that helped Cincinnati keep pace in the fight for the AFC North crown. Meanwhile, Chiefs quarterbac­k Patrick Mahomes led a valiant effort from Kansas City, but it wasn’t enough.

Vikings 27, Jets 22

The Vikings held on late to improve to 10- 2. Minnesota establishe­d its rushing attack early as the backfield duo Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison combined for two touchdowns. The Jets kept pace with 16 second- half points to climb back into the game. However, the Vikings forced two turnovers, including a late intercepti­on in the fourth quarter. Vikings safety Camryn Bynum sealed the game with the turnover.

Commanders 20, Giants 20

The NFC East race got another wrinkle as the Commanders and Giants held serve in Week 13. This is the second NFL game to end in a tie this season. The Commanders generated 411 yards of total offense. Commanders star Terry McLaurin recorded eight catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Giants running back Saquon Barkley had 81 total yards. Giants kicker Graham Gano missed a 58- yard field- goal try in OT.

Packers 28, Bears 19

Packers receiver Christian Watson continued his magical rookie campaign with two touchdowns against the Bears. Watson hauled in three catches for 48 yards and a score. He also added a 46yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Bears were outscored 18- 3 in the second half as the Packers neutralize­d star quarterbac­k Justin Fields. The talented signal- caller threw two late intercepti­ons that proved costly.

Steelers 19, Falcons 16

The Steelers won their 16th game in the all- time series against the Falcons at Mercedes- Benz Stadium. Steelers cornerback Minkah Fitzpatric­k intercepte­d Falcons quarterbac­k Marcus Mariota in the fourth quarter to thwart a late rally. The Steelers controlled the time of possession and collected 22 first downs. It was a big day for tight end Pat Freiermuth. He hauled in three catches for 75 yards. The Falcons struggled offensively. Falcons quarterbac­k Marcus Mariota finished 13 of 24 for 167 yards and recorded a touchdown.

Lions 40, Jaguars 14

The Lions put their offense on full display against the Jaguars. Several Lions playmakers got into the scoring act. Lions receiver Amon- Ra St. Brown scored two receiving touchdowns. Backfield duo Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift both had rushing scores. The Jaguars fell behind early and never recovered. The Lions accounted for 266 total yards in the loss. Jacksonvil­le QB Trevor Lawrence finished 17 of 31 for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Seahawks 27, Rams 23

Seahawks quarterbac­k Geno Smith was 28 for 39 passing for 367 yards and three TDs in a pivotal NFC West showdown. Rams running back Cam Akers tallied two rushing TDs, but backup QB John Wolford threw two intercepti­ons.

49ers 33, Dolphins 17

Rookie quarterbac­k Brock Purdy was pressed into duty after Jimmy Garoppolo exited with a season- ending broken right foot injury and threw for two TDs in a win. Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa connected for a pair of long TD passes but was inaccurate as Miami failed to convert a third down in the game. Tagovailoa also suffered an ankle injury. 49ers defender Dre Greenlaw recovered a fumble and returned it 33 yards for a TD to ice the game with 1: 53 left. Nick Bosa had forced the turnover.

Raiders 27, Chargers 20

The Chargers’ playoff hopes took a massive hit as the Raiders kept their season alive with a pivotal AFC West victory. Davante Adams ( eight catches, two touchdowns) and Josh Jacobs ( 150 all- purpose yards) were workhorses for the Las Vegas offense. The Chargers managed 72 yards rushing in a game where Los Angeles QB Justin Herbert amassed 341 total yards.
