They swept away much of the Chip Kelly past — goodbye, Murray, Maxwell and Alonso — but bet heavily on the future, surrendering a future first- and secondrounder in hopes that QB Carson Wentz will be the ideal fit for new coach Doug Pederson’s system. Despite a few other nice additions, including Brooks and McLeod, how the quarterback situation unfolds (executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman has guaranteed nearly $35 million to free agents Chase Daniel and Sam Bradford) will define an extremely risky strategy in Philly.
