Jones, a fan favorite who chose to not waive his no-trade clause in July, would have to accept a significantly reduced role if he returned to Baltimore. But he is 33, and this relationship is over as the O’s want to get younger. Jones hasn’t been an All-Star in three seasons, and last season he had his lowest totals in home runs (15) and RBI (63) since 2008. Rasmus told the team in July he planned to retire for undisclosed reasons.
