Brewers eye playoff push

-

Who will emerge at 2B during spring camp?

Barring the acquisition of an established second baseman before opening day, manager Craig Counsell said he imagines second base will be a shared position. One likelihood is a platoon of right-handed-hitting Hernan Perez, the team’s super-utility player, and lefthanded-hitting Cory Spangenberg, signed as a free agent after being cut loose by San Diego.

But don’t count out Tyler Saladino, who played well coming off the bench last season before injuring an ankle. At some point, top prospect Keston Hiura is expected to take over the position. With most of the team returning intact, there is every reason to expect a winning product on the field.
