After their offseason overhaul, is the rebuild over?

The Phillies have been in rebuild mode the last few years, but it appears that process is over.

They solidified needs with, catcher J.T. Realmuto, outfielder Andrew McCutchen and shortstop Jean Segura and bolstered the bullpen with closer David Robertson and relievers Jose Alvarez and Juan Nicasio.

Those players, alongside their young talent and, potentiall­y (at press time), free agents Bryce Harper or Manny Machado will have Philadelph­ia trending up in the future. Harper and Machado entered free agency as the biggest names on the market, and the Phillies are still in play for them both to be their next face of the franchise.

Did the Phillies improve enough on offense?

You can’t place the blame for the Phillies disappoint­ing end to 2018 on just one area, but their lackluster offense was a major factor. They finished the season last in batting average, 19th in on-base percentage and 22nd in OPS and 21st in runs scored.
