Bochy set to step down after season
The most successful manager in San Francisco Giants history will have one final season to add to his legacy.
As the full squad reported for spring training this week, skipper Bruce Bochy announced that the 2019 season will be his final one in the Giants dugout.
Bochy has managed the Giants since 2007, and although his 975-969 career record isn’t remarkable, he led the team to three World Series titles in a five-year span from 2010 to 2014. The 2010 championship was the first for the Giants since they moved to San Francisco from New York and snapped the franchise’s 56year drought without a title.
Bochy, 63, previously managed the San Diego Padres from 1995 to 2006.
