Jaguars’ keys to the game: Find ways of creating easy offense, disrupt Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers and win the time of possession and the turnover battle. With the QB situation unsettled, the offense must get chunk plays to sustain drives and score RB James Robinson needs to be productive, and the receivers must help with separation and yards after the catch. Edge rushers Josh Allen and Dawuane Smoot must get pressure on Rodgers.
Packers’ keys to the game: Feed RB Aaron Jones and WR Davante Adams, contain Robinson and turn up the heat on whoever is the Jaguars’ quarterback. Jones should be ready for a full workload after dealing with a calf injury, and no one can stop Adams, who has 30 catches and six TDs over the last three games. They have 15 total TDs in 2020 despite missing two games apiece. The defensive strategy must revolve around keeping Robinson wrapped up in the run game and avoiding big plays, particularly from Jacksonville WR D.J. Chark, the deep threat.
Matchup to watch: Jaguars LB Myles Jack vs. Packers RB Jones. Jack is one of the game’s most versatile linebackers and arguably the Jaguars’ best player. He needs to be terrific defending Jones, both in the run game and in coverage, which would make the Packers one-dimensional.
Who wins? With a few extra days of rest and a potent offense nearing full strength, the Packers should roll. The Jaguars don’t have the firepower to threaten an upset, especially with a big question at quarterback.
