• Fantasy value meter,
Here are some players who have seen their fantasy values increase or decrease leading up to their season openers:
Sizzlers
RB Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens: Edwards was already in line to receive a decent number of touches even when J.K. Dobbins was expected to start. With Dobbins now out for the season, Edwards will receive a healthy dose of action on one of the better rushing teams in the NFL.
RB James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars: His early season stock was low due to the presence of rookie first-rounder Travis Etienne, but with Etienne suffering a season-ending injury, Robinson’s upside is considerable.
RB Raheem Mostert, San Francisco 49ers: Rookie Trey Sermon received more fantasy draft attention, yet over the last few weeks Mostert has climbed steadily in the ADP rankings.
RB Damien Harris, New England Patriots: With Sony Michel no longer in the picture, New England will give Harris an even larger share of the workload. James White will handle third-down duties.
WR Corey Davis, New York Jets: Don’t sell new rookie quarterback Zach Wilson short. He’s had a solid preseason and Davis looks like his biggest, best and favorite target. Sometimes in fantasy, it’s more about the opportunity and Davis will have it in spades.
Fizzlers
RB Darrell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams: The Rams didn’t exactly give Henderson a vote of confidence by trading for Michel, who should be their primary goal-line option.
RB David Johnson, Houston Texans: While Johnson could continue to be the primary running back, newcomers Mark Ingram and Phillip Lindsay will have significant roles.
WR Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals: Despite Chase reuniting with his old college quarterback Joe Burrow, he dropped more balls than he caught in preseason. If he can’t get his case of the dropsies under control, there are other talented receivers ready to step in.
WR Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins: The early fantasy draft luster has started to wear off several rookies. With DeVante Parker back and questions swirling around the quarterback position, Waddle’s odds of becoming a fantasy star in Year 1 look slim.
TE Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons: It takes time to learn the tight end position in the NFL, even if you do have once-in-ageneration talent. It will likely take time for Pitts to get his feet wet and realize his immense potential.
