Lions’ keys to victory: Even without RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder), Detroit has a formidable rushing attack thanks in large part to the strong play of its offensive line. If Swift is forced to sit out again this week, RB Jamaal Williams is more than capable of stepping up. If the Lions fall behind early, QB Jared Goff will be forced to throw and suddenly hot WR Josh Reynolds will likely be his favorite target. On defense, expect Detroit to stack the box and dare Denver to beat it through the air.

Broncos’ keys to victory: Denver’s offense has a productive rushing attack that’s led by veteran Melvin Gordon and rookie Javonte Williams, who have carried the Broncos’ offense in recent weeks. On defense, Denver will aim to shut down Detroit’s own rushing attack. DL Mike Purcell will be tasked with plugging up the middle of the line, allowing LBs Kenny Young and Baron Browning to fill running lanes and frustrate the Lions’ offense.

Matchup to watch: Lions WRs Kalif Raymond and Trinity Benson vs. Broncos’ defense. Raymond and Benson both began their careers in Denver. The Broncos have a talented secondary, so Raymond’s best shot to make an impact might come on special teams.

Who wins? After securing their first win of the season last weekend, the Lions will be eager for a repeat performance, but upsetting the Broncos in Denver would be a tall task. The Broncos are still in contention for a playoff spot, while the Lions are the front-runners for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
