Cornerback Interior offensive line
Coming to the supermarket of free agency with a wallet full of cash, the Bengals have been more than willing to spend on their offensive line. Their weakest link in 2021 has since added three starters, but the Bengals should continue to build that weakness into a strength. The addition of a versatile offensive lineman like Zion Johnson from Boston College would be valuable. Look for Cincinnati to prioritize a lineman who can play multiple positions in case of injuries.
A one-year contract deal for Hayden Hurst helps plug the hole for next season. There are a ton of great longterm options at tight end in this draft class though. Cincinnati would be wise to pounce on a player like UCLA’s Greg Dulcich in the second or third round, as QB Joe Burrow could always use another
safety blanket.
The defensive back group in Cincinnati isn’t outright weak, but the cornerbacks did falter during key moments in the Super Bowl. If the Bengals can hit a home run on a Day Two cornerback, it could shore up the defense as a whole.
Defensive line
If Geno Atkins is never able to make his way back onto the team after dealing with shoulder injuries, the Bengals could be in the market for more pass rushing talent on the inside. Options such as Stanford’s Thomas Booker and Iowa State’s Eyioma Uwazurike could be appealing on Day Three.
Wide receiver
Blazing fast Calvin Austin III from Memphis could provide a jolt as a returner, as his 40-yard time of 4.32 seconds matches up with his tape.
