Eagles (5-0) at Jets (2-3)
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. EDT, MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
TV: Fox
Spread (BetMGM):
Eagles by 6.5
Eagles’ keys to victory: The Eagles just keep finding ways to win. Their offense and their depth on offense tends to be too much for teams and they want to keep pushing that trend here against the Jets, including pushing QB Jalen Hurts on short-yard situations. The Eagles should also see how the Broncos got to Jets QB Zach Wilson early in the game. And the Eagles have a lot more firepower on the defensive line than the Broncos, especially now that the Jets don’t have Alijah Vera-Tucker (Achilles tendon injury). Philadelphia can also use its excellent offensive line to push around the Jets defensive line.
Jets’ keys to victory: This may be another game where the Jets have to have Wilson feel loose and allow him to expand the offense through the air. The Eagles have one of the NFL’s best rushing defenses. The Jets need to get playmaking WR Garrett Wilson the football. There are times it feels he is invisible in the offense.
Matchup to watch: Eagles WRs A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith vs. Jets CB Sauce Gardner. Brown again is proving to be one of the elite receivers in the NFL. Gardner stays on one side of the field, so he won’t always see Brown, but he could also see Smith, also becoming one of the better receivers in the league, so it will be a battle almost every play for the All-Pro defensive back.
Who wins? The Jets gained momentum after their win in Denver and Wilson has been playing better. But injuries up front are building up.
