Spread (BetMGM):

Texans by 3.5

Broncos’ keys to victory: Getting the ground game moving with RB Javonte Williams would give Denver a measure of tempo. QB Russell Wilson has played steadier over the past five games with a passer rating of 90-plus in each. WR Courtland Sutton will need his targets to establish dominance in the opposing secondary. What has also helped the Broncos is their ability to come up with extra possessions. Over the past three games, Denver has collected 10 takeaways and should continue to find at least one turnover.

Texans’ keys to victory: Using zone running schemes with RB Devin Singletary has been a proven way for the Texans to jump-start their rushing attack. Typically Houston has resorted to QB C.J. Stroud using his arm to get the air attack going before the run. Rookie WR Tank Dell has been electric with seven touchdown catches on the year. The Texans could use more help on the edge from DE Will Anderson, who has three sacks, trailing fellow Texans DE Jonathan Greenard’s seven.

Matchup to watch: Texans DB Derek Stingley vs. Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy. Stingley, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 draft, has been effective since his Week 10 return. Jeudy had just two catches for 11 yards in Week 12 but has been a solid target throughout the year.

Who wins? The Broncos have experience in coaching, which tends to matter in late-game situations. It may be another nail-biter for Houston as neither side has an overwhelming strength or weakness. Both passing games could get into a barn-burner.
