NFL WEEK 14 MATCHUPS

- John Dillon, Chiefs Wire

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri

TV: CBS

Spread (BetMGM):

Chiefs by 2.5

Bills’ keys to victory: Buffalo simply has to make Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes play from behind. With a steady dose of RB James Cook and the ground game, the Bills can effectively box Kansas City out and force the Chiefs’ ailing defense to focus on stopping the run, leaving WR Stefon Diggs and TE Dalton Kinkaid to feast on passes from QB Josh Allen. Kansas City has proved to be a beatable team in 2023, and if Buffalo can exploit it if it has a plan to keep Mahomes and Co. on their back feet.

Chiefs’ keys to victory: Kansas City will need to make defensive adjustments against Buffalo’s stars on offense. Many of the unit’s most productive contributors are injured or coming off of injury, namely LBs Drue Tranquill and Nick Bolton and starting safety Bryan Cook. Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will have to put on a masterclass to keep the Bills offense at bay and will rely on DBs Trent McDuffie, L’Jarius Sneed and Justin Reid.

Matchup to watch: Bills OL vs. Chiefs DL. The only part of K.C.’s defense that hasn’t been bitten by the injury bug is its line, which has proved to be a menace for opposing quarterbacks. Facing pass rushers like George Karlaftis, Chris Jones, Mike Danna and Charles Omenihu, Buffalo’s offensive line anchored by center Mitch Morse and tackles Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown will be tested.

Who wins? K.C. seems to have lost a step, and the Bills are sure to play with a chip on their shoulder as they look to avenge recent losses to the Chiefs in big games.

Bills, 33-17
