Spread (BetMGM):

Chiefs by 10

Raiders’ keys to victory: While QB Aidan O’Connell isn’t likely to dominate the Chiefs’ formidable defense, Las Vegas should be able to lean on its running game to keep Kansas City guessing. Star RB Josh Jacobs (quadriceps) was a no-go for the Raiders last weekend but could return against Kansas City. On defense, Las Vegas will need to utilize star pass rusher Maxx Crosby to pressure reigning MVP QB Patrick Mahomes and force turnovers when head coach Andy Reid calls passing plays. Mahomes threw two interceptions last weekend and has 13 overall, tying his career high.

Chiefs’ keys to victory: Kansas City simply needs to steer clear of turnovers. Mahomes will likely rely on TE Travis Kelce and rookie WR Rashee Rice for the majority of his production. RB Isiah Pacheco’s status (shoulder) is in question, and his inclusion in the offensive game plan could be a boon for Kansas City.

Matchup to watch: Chiefs DB L’Jarius Sneed vs. Raiders WR Davante Adams. Sneed has been supremely successful as Kansas City’s shutdown corner this season and has held some of the best receivers in the NFL to minimal production. He is likely to shadow Adams for the duration of the game, and if his performances in previous weeks are any indication, Sneed should be able to put together a special showing.

Who wins? Las Vegas may keep it interesting by forcing Mahomes to make mistakes, but the Raiders won’t be able to score enough points on an elite defense.

Chiefs, 23-9
