Packers (7-8) at Vikings (7-8)

- Zach Kruse, Packers Wire

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET, US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis TV: NBC

Spread (BetMGM):

Vikings by 2

Packers’ keys to victory: Generate turnovers and protect QB Jordan Love. The Vikings have turned the ball over multiple times in eight games and are 2-6 in those games. The Packers must get takeaways to create momentum swings and provide quick and easy scoring opportunities for the offense in a tough atmosphere. Can the Packers offensive line keep Love protected against Brian Flores’ flurry of blitzes? The Vikings recorded four sacks and eight QB hits in the first meeting. Green Bay also must reduce penalties (it had 11 last time versus Minnesota) and make explosive plays in the vertical passing game.

Vikings’ keys to victory: Create explosive plays in the passing game and win the big situations. The Packers pass defense is struggling to prevent completions and big plays. The Vikings will be starting a backup quarterback but have plenty of talent. WRs Jordan Addison and K.J. Osborn and TE T.J. Hockenson all had over 80 receiving yards and a catch of at least 20 yards in the first meeting. Now WR Justin Jefferson is back. The Vikings must also dominate on third down and in the red zone, especially on defense. The Packers have been inconsistent scoring touchdowns inside the 20-yard line.

Matchup to watch: Packers OLB Rashan Gary vs. Vikings RT Brian O’Neil. The Packers need Gary to make game-altering plays as a pass rusher, while the Vikings need O’Neil to keep the pocket clean for a backup quarterback.

Who wins? The Packers defense struggles, and the Vikings have too many passing weapons.

Vikings, 30-27
