JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

-

Round 1 (No. 23 overall, from Browns through Texans and Vikings) — Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU: The 6-3, 209-pounder put down a 4.33 40 at the combine in the wake of a season when he had 1,177 yards on 68 catches – a quarter of those receptions resulting in TDs. Thomas is headed to a team where he doesn’t have to immediately assume a WR1 role.

Round 2 (48) — Maason Smith, DT, LSU: Could reach estimable potential as he joins a Jags line that also just welcomed veteran DT Arik Armstead and has Josh Allen and Travon Walker on the edges. Smith should be another who can slice through gaps and disrupt a pocket.

Round 3 (96, compensatory selection) — Jarrian Jones, CB, Florida State: Sub-4.4 speed. Lives in the slot, where he might pilfer a ball or blitz.

Round 4 (114) — Javon Foster, OT, Missouri: The longtime Tigers left tackle was a standout in pass protection against SEC competition and helped pave the way for running back Cody Schrader.

Round 4 (116, from Saints) — Jordan Jefferson, DT, LSU: He is strong at the point of attack and uses his burst off the line well. He lacks flexibility and balance that you’d like to see on the interior. He’d be a rotational linemen and this seems early to draft him.

Round 5 (153) — Deantre Prince, CB, Ole Miss: He was a reliable player for the Rebels with OK ball production. He’s best in press coverage and his athleticism and toughness will keep him on an NFL roster.

Round 5 (167, from Chiefs through Vikings) — Keilan Robinson, RB, Texas: Robinson was a standout returner which is likely his role in the NFL. He could end up a great return man in Jacksonville.

Round 6 (212, compensatory selection) — Cam Little, K, Arkansas: Little never missed an extra point and connected on 53 of 64 career field goals in college. He consistently gets the necessary power behind kicks but can often miss wide right when he’s off.

Round 7 (236) — Myles Cole, DE, Texas Tech: His height and arm length, along with his power, make him a worthwhile project in the NFL. He needs to develop against the running game.
