DALLAS COWBOYS

-

Round 1 (No. 29 overall, from Lions) — Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma: A former tight end, the 6-8, 322-pounder is an exceptional athlete for his size. He is relatively inexperienced from a playing time perspective but should have an opportunity to immediately fill the left tackle post vacated by Tyron Smith.

Round 2 (56) — Marshawn Kneeland, DE, Western Michigan: Kneeland displays the athleticism of a former tight end if also the inexperience of a relative newcomer to the D-line. He averaged 3½ sacks and 9.3 TFLs over the past three seasons.

Round 3 (73, from Vikings through Lions) — Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State: More reinforcements for an offensive line that needs them. Beebe could play guard or center depending on how things shake out here, especially if first-rounder Tyler Guyton isn’t ready to play.

Round 3 (87) — Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame: A versatile player but one who could solve what’s been a problem area at the second level in Dallas lately.

Round 5 (174, compensatory selection) — Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest: Carson missed 11 games over the past three years with the Demon Deacons. Injury concerns aside, he’s a versatile NFL cornerback with ideal size and athleticism. If he stays healthy, he could become a solid starter for the Cowboys.

Round 6 (216, compensatory selection) — Ryan Flournoy, WR, Southeast Missouri State: Flournoy’s a heightweight-speed athlete who showed off against Ohio Valley Conference competition. His tape against Iowa State and Kansas State weren’t bad and he already has the tools as a rotational wide receiver, something rare to find late in the draft.

Round 7 (233, from Raiders) — Nathan Thomas, OT, Louisiana: Thomas has the tools to be a solid tackle. His size, above-average wingspan, and massive hands make him strong at the point of attack. He needs time to develop his discipline and better technique.

Round 7 (244) — Justin Rogers, DT, Auburn: A powerful, compact frame makes him hard to move off the line. He lacks range to make a big difference in the run game but can take up enough blockers to open chances for others.
